A devastating road accident occurred late at night on May 5, 2025 (Monday), on State Highway 77 in Katihar, Bihar. As a result, eight people died on the spot and two were critically injured. The incident involved a Scorpio SUV carrying wedding guests and a tractor loaded with maize.
Wedding Journey Turns Fatal Accident:
The Scorpio was traveling from Dhibra Bazar to Kursela in Katihar district (Bihar) with 10 individuals to attend a wedding ceremony. Midway through the journey, the driver lost control of the vehicle, veered into the opposite lane, and collided head-on with an oncoming tractor.
The impact was severe. Locals immediately informed the nearby police station. Authorities, along with health department officials, arrived at the scene. The injured were taken to the nearest CHC (Community Health Centre) for emergency medical treatment, while the deceased were sent for post-mortem.
A case has been registered, and the incident remains under investigation.
