
A tragic road accident at Indira Colony near Paloncha claimed the life of a first-year degree student from Hyderabad on Saturday, leaving seven others seriously injured.
The deceased has been identified as Rohith Patel (19), a student of Gauthami Degree College, Hyderabad. According to police, Rohith had travelled to Sri Seetha Ramachandra Swamy Devasthanam in Bhadrachalam along with his friends for darshan and was returning home when the mishap occurred.
Auto Rickshaw Overturns After Collision
Police sources said the group was travelling in an auto rickshaw when it collided with a car moving ahead of it near Indira Colony. The impact caused the auto rickshaw to overturn, resulting in Rohith Patel’s death on the spot.
Seven other passengers sustained severe injuries in the accident and were immediately shifted to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Paloncha for medical treatment.
Student Had Visited Friend in Paloncha
Rohith Patel was visiting one of his friends residing at Karakagudem village in Paloncha mandal before heading back. The sudden tragedy has left his family, friends, and college community in deep shock and grief.
Police Register Case
The Paloncha town police have registered a case in connection with the accident and are investigating the circumstances leading to the collision.
