In Fatehpur district, a tragic road accident occurred on Saturday morning, 19th April 2025, around 5:00 AM, resulting in the death of four people.
A Maruti Ertiga was traveling on the Kanpur-Prayagraj highway near Sujanipur when it rear collided with a stationary dumper parked on the road. The car, carrying six people, crashed into the rear of the dumper at high speed. All six occupants sustained severe injuries, and sadly, four of them succumbed to their injuries.
The dumper was improperly parked on road, which contributed to the accident. After the incident, the dumper driver fled the scene. The police have registered a case and are currently searching for the absconding driver.
What was the result of the road accident?
- Death of four people, including the parents.
- A son’s ashes bound for Sangam became the parents’ ashes to Sangam.
- One tragic loss was multiplied into more.
- Two people are battling for their lives in the hospital.
- The son’s last rites were interrupted.
- The car was completely destroyed.

What Are the Possible Causes of the Accident?
- Was the early morning timing a contributing factor to the accident?
- Was low visibility in the early hours a reason for the collision?
- Was over speeding the main cause of the accident?
- Was driver fatigue or drowsiness involved?
- Was the dumper wrongly parked on the road?
- Did the car driver attempt to overtake from the left and collide with the dumper?
- Was the dumper not visible due to a lack of rear lights or reflectors?
- Was this a tragic twist of fate, spiritually linked to the son’s ashes journey?
- Were there other possible human or environmental factors?
Reflection:
If both drivers had avoided these careless mistakes, this tragedy could have been prevented. Four lives could have been saved. The ashes of the son could have reached Sangam peacefully, as per Hindu rituals. But now, this ritual is postponed, and the death of the son has turned into a larger, unimaginable grief for the family.
Kaash aisa nahi hota, toh yeh jaanen bach jaati, (if only this hadn’t happened, those lives could have been saved.) This cannot be undone—but we must learn from this and avoid similar tragedies.
