
A tragic and preventable road accident in Jetpur, Gujarat, has claimed the lives of two young men after a high-speed joyride turned deadly. The fatal incident, which involved a speeding Hyundai Verna crashing into a road divider, highlights the severe real-world consequences of reckless driving for social media validation.
Chasing Clout: 120 Kmph for Instagram Reels
Shortly before the horrific crash occurred on Saturday night, the driver, identified as Avadh Tiwari, uploaded videos to his Instagram account showing the sedan cruising at dangerous speeds of approximately 120 kmph. Disturbing footage, recorded by a backseat passenger, revealed the alarming negligence inside the vehicle. Tiwari was seen steering the car with just one hand while holding his mobile phone in the other to record an Instagram Reel.
Another clip showed the front-seat passenger capturing the vehicle’s speedometer as it accelerated into the night. Distracted by the phone and traveling at excessively high speeds, the driver ultimately lost control of the Hyundai Verna, leading to a catastrophic and high-impact collision with a concrete road divider.
Casualties in the Jetpur Road Accident
The brutal impact of the collision resulted in immediate tragedy. Avadh Tiwari, who was behind the wheel during the reckless stunt, was killed instantly and pronounced dead at the scene. His 20-year-old friend and fellow passenger, Devraj Gosai, was quickly rushed for emergency medical treatment but sadly succumbed to his severe injuries at a local hospital. A third occupant of the vehicle, Akshay Pravinbhai Vaghela, survived the initial crash but remains hospitalized in critical condition.
