West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh – A tragic road accident, two women MANREGA workers were killed and two others critically injured after a vehicle ran over them near Mogalturu on the National Highway on Wednesday, April 16, 2025,
The incident occurred when a Bolero van, traveling from Narsapuram to Machilipatnam, lost control and veered off the road into an agricultural field where several women were working under the MANREGA scheme. The vehicle ran over four workers.
As a result, two women died on the spot, and two others sustained critical injuries. The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby government hospital for treatment.
Upon receiving the information, police rushed to the accident spot, shifted the injured, and registered a case. The incident is currently under investigation.
Following the accident, the West Godavari District Collector, the MLA from Jana Sena Party, and other local leaders visited the accident site. They assured proper treatment for the injured and promised that the government would provide compensation and support to the affected families.
