
Rajamahendravaram, Andhra Pradesh:
In a tragic road accident, two persons lost their lives on the spot after a lorry rammed into the two-wheeler they were riding on the Gammon Bridge across the River Godavari in the early hours of Wednesday.
Accident Caused Due to Poor Visibility
According to initial reports, the victims were travelling towards Rajamahendravaram city when their motorcycle was hit from behind by a speeding lorry. Dense fog in the area is suspected to be the primary cause of the accident, severely affecting visibility on the bridge.
Victims Identified
Kovvur police identified the deceased as Koti (36) and T. Chinna Subba Rao (40). Both died on the spot due to the impact of the collision.
Bodies Shifted for Post-Mortem
The bodies were shifted to the Government Hospital in Rajamahendravaram for post-mortem examination. Family members of the deceased have been informed.
Police Investigation Underway
The Kovvur police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the accident. Officials have also urged motorists to exercise extreme caution while travelling during early morning hours, especially in foggy conditions.
