Road accident site on NH-30 in Sitapur where a youth died after being crushed by an unidentified vehicle following a bike collision

A tragic road accident occurred on National Highway-30 in Sitapur district on Saturday evening, resulting in the instant death of a young man and leaving two others critically injured. The incident took place near Ilasiya Park under the Ramkot police station area, causing panic and traffic disruption on the busy highway.
Head-On Collision Between Two Motorcycles
According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened when two motorcycles collided head-on at high speed on the highway. The impact of the collision threw the riders onto the road. Amid the chaos, one of the fallen riders was run over by an unidentified vehicle coming from behind, killing him on the spot.
The unidentified vehicle fled the scene immediately after the incident, while commuters and locals rushed to help the injured.
Deceased Identified as Ambika Prasad
The deceased has been identified as Ambika Prasad, son of Shivraj Verma, a resident of Mohiddinpur. The news of his sudden and brutal death plunged his family into deep grief.
Meanwhile, two other persons riding the second motorcycle sustained serious injuries. With the help of local residents and police, they were rushed to the district hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment under medical supervision. Their identities are yet to be confirmed.
Police Launch Investigation, CCTV Footage Under Review
Upon receiving information, Ramkot police immediately reached the spot, took custody of the body, and sent it for postmortem examination. Both damaged motorcycles have been seized as part of the investigation.
Police officials stated that efforts are underway to identify the unknown vehicle involved in the hit-and-run, and CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined. Further legal action will be initiated after the postmortem report is received.
Traffic Disrupted After Accident
Following the accident, chaos prevailed on NH-30, and traffic movement was affected for some time until police cleared the area. The incident has once again raised serious concerns over overspeeding and road safety on national highways.
