I am the author of Safe Road Life, a platform dedicated to road safety awareness, education, and advocacy. Through this initiative, I aim to address critical issues , Such as road user behavior, causes of accidents, and the fundamental principles of roads, vehicles, and driver safety.
As a road safety professional since 2006:
I have witnessed a significant lack of understanding regarding road safety in India. That day’s road safety was often simplified to just wearing helmets and seatbelts. Most road users were unaware of the broader scope and impact of road safety practices.
Over the past 19 years:
I have worked with both Indian and multinational companies, as well as abroad as a road safety professional. Observing the standards of Indian road users driving behavior and the Indian road, the tragic outcomes of road accidents has been disheartening. The aftermath of the road accident, especially when it results in a loss of life, is devastating for families. Road accidents can be minimized:
Adopting responsible behavior, staying alert, and strictly following traffic rules. However, many road users in India fail to understand this. Over speeding, drunk driving, distractions, fatigue, and unsafe driving practices continue to be leading causes of accidents and fatalities.
Education on road safety in India has not yet reached the level of enforcement and awareness compared to other countries. Moreover, city and state roads in India face challenges like encroachment, reducing their effective width and creating further hazards for road users. Through Safe Road Life:
I aim to reach the Indian public and bring about awareness, education, and exposure to global road safety standards. It’s a humble effort to inspire change and save lives on our roads.
